Leonid Arkadevich Taranenko is a Soviet former weightlifter and coach. His 266 kg clean and jerk in 1988 was the heaviest lift in competition for 33 years, until Lasha Talakhadze exceeded it, lifting 267 kg at the 2021 World Weightlifting Championships.
