Biography

About

Meine joined Scorpions in 1969, four years after guitarist Rudolf Schenker founded the group, and the two became the only constants across every album that followed. Born 25 May 1948, he brought both the frontman presence and the pen — writing most of the band's lyrics through decades of lineup changes and shifts in taste. By 2006, Hit Parader ranked him number 22 on its list of top heavy metal vocalists of all time. He's still the guy at the microphone, still singing the songs that made stadiums sing back.
