Czechoslovak member of Czechoslovak national parliament and Nazi Germany politician (1898-1946)
He ran the Nazi terror machine in occupied Czechoslovakia and signed the orders that wiped two villages off the map. In 1946, Prague hanged him for it.
Karl Hermann Frank was born 24 January 1898, a Sudeten German who rose to Obergruppenführer and took command of the Nazi police apparatus — Gestapo, SD, and Kripo — in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia before and during World War II. His authority extended over the entire security structure of the occupation. He organized the massacres at Lidice and Ležáky, Czech villages destroyed in reprisal. After the war ended, he was tried and convicted for those acts. He was executed by hanging on 22 May 1946.
