He is the inaugural Alfred and Rebecca Lin Professor of Civil Discourse and Professor of Psychology at Harvard University, where he is also a member of the Center for Brain Science faculty. Much of his research has examined moral judgment and decision-making, with a focus on the interplay between emotion and reason in moral dilemmas such as trolley problems.
