French balloonist (1845-1875)
Joseph Crocé-Spinelli was a French engineer, aeronaut and inventor, one of the pioneers of aviation. Along with Gaston Tissandier and Théodore Sivel, he achieved a record altitude of 8,600 metres (28,200 ft) in the gas balloon Zénith.
