John Shanley was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as bishop of the Diocese of Jamestown in North Dakota, starting in 1889. When the Vatican renamed it as the Diocese of Fargo in 1897, he continued to serve as bishop until his death in 1909.
