About this person
Joseph Glenn Herbert was born June 2, 1971, and took the stage name Jo Koy. He became a regular face on E!'s Chelsea Lately, grinding out appearances as a panelist while building his stand-up base. That visibility led to six specials split between Comedy Central and Netflix, each one widening his reach. In 2024 he stepped into a different spotlight altogether, hosting the 81st Golden Globe Awards. The through-line: a comic who spent years in rooms before the rooms got bigger.
