Jerry Edwin Abramson is an American Democratic politician who served as the 55th lieutenant governor of Kentucky (2011–2014). He also served as the mayor of Louisville for an unprecedented two decades. He was the only person to serve three consecutive terms as mayor of the city of Louisville (1986–1999). He later served two terms as the first mayor of the consolidated city-county of "Louisville Metro" (2003–2011). He was also the first Jewish person to serve as mayor of Louisville.
