Dutch computer scientist (1953–1994)
Jan L. A. van de Snepscheut was a Dutch computer scientist and educator who worked on program derivation, concurrent algorithms, formal methods, and very-large-scale integration (VLSI) design. He studied at the Eindhoven University of Technology, where he became associated with the mathematical and programming-methodology school around Edsger W. Dijkstra, and later held academic positions at the University of Twente, Eindhoven, the University of Groningen, and the California Institute of Technology.
