American politician (1833-1920)
James Albert Gary was a U.S. political figure. He was the Republican candidate in the 1879 Maryland gubernatorial election. He served as Postmaster General from 1897 to 1898. His 61-acre summer place in Catonsville, Maryland known as the "Summit", was added in 1979 to the National Register of Historic Places.
