Jakob Schubert is read about 187 times a day, in 21 languages.
A typical day, 30 days to 20 October 2026
The middle day of the days counted, so one week of news cannot move it. The line under it is the last 395 days, one point a day.
Something wrong? The Austrian climber who stacked more IFSC gold than any man in the sport's history, then became the first human to tick both a 9c sport route and a 9A boulder problem - the twin peaks of difficulty on rock.

About this person
Jakob Schubert was born 31 December 1990 and came up through Austrian competition climbing to win his first World Cup in lead in 2011. He took his first World Championship the next year, in 2012, then added two more Cups in 2014 and 2018 and another world title that same year. When climbing entered the Olympics he earned bronze in the combined event at Tokyo 2020, repeated it in Paris 2024, and claimed two more world championships in 2021 and 2023. By then he held more IFSC gold medals than any other male climber. Outside the competition bubble he pushed into the sport's hardest grades, redpointing a 9c route and sending a 9A boulder - the first person to cross both thresholds.
