About this person
Jake Melvin Larson was born December 20, 1922. He served in World War II, and decades later - long after most of his generation had gone quiet or gone - he turned to TikTok to share what he'd seen. As Papa Jake, he brought the stories forward, first-person, to an audience that had only ever known the war as history. He kept at it into his hundreds. Larson died July 17, 2025.
