German politician (1887-1970)
Jacob Walcher was a German communist politician and trade unionist who was a co-founder of the Communist Party of Germany in 1919. Following policy disagreements, he was expelled from the party and eventually joined the Socialist Workers' Party of Germany, of which he served as de facto chairman-in-exile from 1933 until the formation of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany in 1946.
