About this person
Bae Joo-hyun was born March 29, 1991, and adopted the stage name Irene when she debuted as leader of Red Velvet. The group launched her into the upper tier of K-pop acts, and she later formed a sub-unit with member Seulgi. Between 2015 and 2017 she hosted Music Bank and Laundry Day, then returned in 2022 with Irene's Work & Holiday, building a second career as a television presence. She's acted in Women at a Game Company in 2016 and the film Double Patty in 2021. The work keeps accumulating - music, hosting, acting - each lane reinforcing the others.
