Born in Hungary in 1951, Staller built her stage name Cicciolina through a radio show called Voulez-vous coucher avec moi? in the early 1970s and a string of films that made her one of Europe's most recognized adult performers. In 1978 she became the first to go topless on Italian television. Nine years later she won a seat in Parliament with the Radical Party, campaigning on personal freedom. Her time in public life included calculated provocations - offers to sleep with Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden, and Vladimir Putin if they'd stop their wars. She married the American artist Jeff Koons; they had a son, then divorced. She left Parliament in 1992.
