About this person

Iga Świątek won junior titles at Roland Garros and Wimbledon in 2018, then broke into the top 50 a year later at 18. In 2020 she claimed her first French Open without dropping more than five games in a match, an announcement by demolition. She cracked the top ten in May 2021, then surged to world No. 1 in early 2022 on the back of that 37-match streak, adding majors at the French and US Opens to close the year on top. She repeated as year-end No. 1 in 2023 after defending Paris and taking the WTA Finals, then made it three straight French Opens in 2024. Her first grass title came at Wimbledon in 2025, months before a one-month suspension for a contaminated sleep medication. Six majors and twelve WTA 1000 titles by her mid-twenties, an all-court game built on precision and a drop shot that once won shot of the year from the baseline.
