About

Tracy Lauren Marrow came up as an underground rapper in the 1980s, signed to Sire Records in 1987, and released Rhyme Pays. Power followed in 1988, his only platinum record, and he founded Rhyme $yndicate Records the same year. Three more gold albums arrived between 1989 and 1993, including O.G. Original Gangster, which introduced the heavy metal band Body Count he'd co-founded in 1990. Body Count's self-titled 1992 debut ignited a firestorm over "Cop Killer," a track about shooting police; Ice-T asked out of his Warner Bros. deal and released Home Invasion through Priority Records.
