About this person
Khan was born on 2 October 1987 and broke through as Akshara Maheshwari Singhania in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, a role she held from 2009 to 2016 and which earned her two ITA Awards for Best Actress. In 2017 she placed second in both Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi and Bigg Boss, back to back reality seasons that showed range beyond scripted work. The following year she took the antagonist role in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, a romantic series where her critically praised negative turn earned her a Gold Award. The shift from heroine to heel, from seven-year anchor to reality contestant to calculated villain, made her one of India's highest-paid television actresses and a collector of three ITA Awards, three Indian Telly Awards, and seven Golds across genres.
