About this person
Hebe Camargo started as a singer in the 1940s, appearing in Mazzaropi's comedy films before moving to radio. In the 1950s she entered television on TV Paulista, presenting on O Mundo é das Mulheres. She shifted to Rede Record in the 1960s, where a Sunday interview program launched in 1966 made her a fixture. Through the 1970s and 1980s she appeared on nearly every major Brazilian network, including Record and Rede Bandeirantes. After a long break she returned to interviewing in 1980, then joined SBT in 1986 and stayed until 2010, hosting Hebe and Fora do Ar. In 2006 she celebrated her thousandth program on SBT. She died at home in 2012, a São Paulo FC fan, worth over $360 million.
