He worked under the patronage of Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor and Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor. The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds one of his works, a gold-gilted bishop statuette. Some of his pieces are also housed in the Aachen Cathedral.
