Grigori Ossipovitch Vinokour

Grigoriy Osipovich Vinokur was a Polish-born Russian linguist and literary historian. He was educated in Moscow. After a brief spell as an interpreter in Estonia and Latvia he returned there, remaining for the rest of his life.
