Glenn Diesen was born in 1979 and carved out an academic niche studying Russia's Greater Eurasian Partnership - the political economy, the conservatism, the foreign policy mechanics of Moscow's turn eastward. He landed a professorship at the University of South-Eastern Norway, where he still teaches in the Department of Business, History and Social Sciences. For years he appeared regularly on RT, the Russian state broadcaster, offering commentary that critics say blurs the line between analysis and propaganda. In May 2025 he surfaced as a candidate for Peace and Justice, a pro-Russian party, running in Akershus - a move that hardened the question hanging over his work from the start.
