Giorgio Diaz de Santillana was an Italian-American philosopher and historian of science, particularly of ancient science and of the Renaissance science of Galileo Galilei. He was a professor of the History of Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology best known for his books The Crime of Galileo (1955) and Hamlet's Mill (1969).
