Chinese politician and scholar of Ming period (1513–1578)
Gao Gong (1513–1578) was a Chinese scholar-official during the Ming dynasty. During the reign of the Jiajing Emperor, he held a prominent position in the Emperor's inner circle. He rose to the positions of grand secretary and minister of personnel, and from 1571 to 1572 he served as head of the Grand Secretariat.
