Born in Shanghai in 1991 and raised in Hong Kong, Gloria Tang debuted at sixteen under Hummingbird Music with a self-titled Cantonese EP that swept newcomer awards in 2008. Her first full-length, 18..., landed among Hong Kong's top ten sellers the next year, recorded in both Mandarin and Cantonese. Xposed made her the youngest-ever nominee for Best Female Mandarin Singer at the Golden Melody Awards in 2012, then a 2014 appearance on I Am a Singer 2 cracked her wide open across Greater China. Heartbeat followed in 2015; a year later she released "Light Years Away" for Passengers, which became the most-watched music video by a Chinese artist on YouTube and has never been overtaken. She left Hummingbird in March 2019 after a public contract dispute, launched her own imprint G-Nation, and released City Zoo and Revelation - both number ones in Hong Kong. Her I Am Gloria World Tour ran 86 shows between 2023 and 2026 and pulled in over $424 million, placing it among the five highest-grossing tours by a woman in history.
