German officer and Knight's Cross recipients (1898–1944)
Friedrich Blümke was a highly decorated general in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. Friedrich Blümke was wounded in August 1944 and was captured by Soviet troops in September. He died on 4 September 1944 in a Soviet prisoner of war camp near Odesa.
