French politician and military personnel (1751-1828)
Étienne Maynaud de Bizefranc de Laveaux was a French Army officer, colonial administrator and politician who served as the governor of Saint-Domingue from 1793 to 1796. Serving during the Haitian Revolution, he ensured that the Law of 4 February 1794 was enforced, and supported the black leader Toussaint Louverture. After the Bourbon Restoration in France he was Deputy for Saône-et-Loire from 1820 to 1823.
