About this person
Elissar Zakaria Khoury took silver on the Lebanese talent show Studio El Fan in 1992 and spent the next decade working toward a break. It came in 2002 with "Ayshalak," a single that moved enough units to make Rotana sign her and eventually turn her into the label's top seller. Between 2004 and 2020 she released nine albums under Rotana - Ahla Dounya, Bastanak, and Tesada'a Bemeen each winning her a World Music Award for best-selling Middle Eastern artist - and racked up over a billion streams on Anghami, making her the platform's most-streamed woman. The relationship soured over her masters; in 2022 she pulled her catalogue from Spotify, YouTube, and Anghami, founded E-Records, and released Ana Sekketen in 2024 on her own terms.
