Donald Paul Hodel is an American former politician who served as the fourth United States secretary of energy from 1982 to 1985 and as the 45th United States secretary of the interior from 1985 to 1989. He was known during his tenure as Secretary of the Interior for his controversial "Hodel Policy," which stated that disused dirt roads and footpaths could be considered right-of-ways under RS 2477.
