About

Hans "Dolph" Lundgren was born in Sweden on 3 November 1957 and earned degrees in chemical engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and the University of Sydney by 1982, all while training in Kyokushin karate hard enough to win the European championship in 1980 and 1981. He broke through as Soviet boxer Ivan Drago in Rocky IV (1985), then rode that cold menace into over 80 action films — Masters of the Universe, The Punisher, three Universal Soldier entries opposite Jean-Claude Van Damme.
