Chilean writer and musician (1927–2023)
David Rosenmann-Taub was a Chilean poet, musician and artist. His precocious talent in both literature and music was recognized and encouraged by his father, a polyglot, and his mother, a virtuoso pianist. She began teaching him the instrument when he was two; by nine, he himself was giving piano lessons. He later studied composition, counterpoint and fugue with the celebrated composer Pedro Humberto Allende. He began writing poetry at a very early age; his first published work, a long poem titled El Adolescente, was written at age fourteen and appeared four years later in a literary magazine.
