Povenmire cut his teeth on The Simpsons, Rocko's Modern Life, and SpongeBob SquarePants before landing as a director on Family Guy, where he earned an Annie nomination in 2005. He left that gig to finally get Phineas and Ferb off the ground with co-creator Jeff "Swampy" Marsh - a project they'd been shopping since the '90s. The show ran for years and racked up award nominations; after its initial wrap, the pair launched Milo Murphy's Law in 2016, then returned for a second Phineas and Ferb film, Candace Against the Universe, in 2020. That same year he announced Hamster & Gretel, which hit screens in 2022.
