He was Disney's resident jock - the basketball sidekick who could move - and "I Don't Dance" became the wedge that launched him from franchise utility player to someone who could actually carry a stage. Broadway noticed before Hollywood did.

I'm a very outgoing person. I'm always happy, I'm one of those people who are always smiling.

I mean, to see somebody else when they put so much work into whatever they do... that inspires me. My dad, he does that very much so.

About this person
Corbin Bleu Reivers was acting professionally in the late 1990s, but the breakthrough came in 2006 when he landed Chad Danforth in the High School Musical trilogy - a three-film run that put him in living rooms worldwide and sent "I Don't Dance" into the Billboard Hot 100. He tried to pivot into music (Another Side debuted at number 36 in 2007, selling 18,000 copies its first week; Speed of Light followed in 2009) and took scattered film roles, but the real second act arrived on Broadway. He debuted as Usnavi in In the Heights in 2010, returned for Godspell in 2012, and kept coming back - Holiday Inn in 2016, Kiss Me, Kate in 2019, both yielding Ghostlight Records contracts for the cast albums. In April 2025 he made his West End debut as Nick Carraway in The Great Gatsby at the London Coliseum, earning a Laurence Olivier Award nomination and proving the stage was always the sharper bet.
