Biography

About

Conrad III inherited titles at two: Duke of Swabia, nominal King of Jerusalem and Sicily, all through bloodline and none through power. Known as Conradin, "the Boy," he grew up as the final flicker of the Hohenstaufen line. At sixteen he marched south to take back Sicily. He lost. He was captured. On 29 October 1268, they beheaded him, and with him the direct line went dark.
