Conrad Loddiges

The Loddiges family managed one of the most notable of the eighteenth and nineteenth century plant nurseries that traded in and introduced exotic plants, trees, shrubs, ferns, palms and orchids into European gardens. The hothouses covered land to the east of Mare Street, Hackney, London E9, including that now occupied by Urswick School.
