Cody Simpson

Cody Robert Simpson was born 11 January 1997 and broke through as a recording artist young enough that four solo albums (Paradise in 2012, Surfers Paradise in 2013, Free in 2015, and a self-titled release in 2022) arrived before his mid-twenties. In late 2018 he stepped into the lead role of Dmitry in the Broadway production of Anastasia, holding it through April 2019, and that same year won the first season of The Masked Singer Australia as Robot. Then the pivot: in 2022 Simpson qualified for the Australian Swim Team at the Commonwealth Games during the national trials, trading stages for chlorine. Two years later, in June 2024, he retired from competitive swimming after failing to make the cut for the Paris Olympics. Another album is slated for 2026.
