Cori Dionne Gauff was born March 13, 2004, and turned pro as a teenager in 2019. That summer at Wimbledon she announced herself by reaching the fourth round, then closed the year with her first WTA title in Linz. She made her first major final at the 2022 French Open, where she also climbed to doubles No. 1 alongside Jessica Pegula. In 2023 she won the US Open, her first major singles crown. The following year she took the WTA Finals, then in 2025 claimed the French Open to give her two Grand Slam singles titles before her 21st birthday. She has won twelve singles titles in all, including four at the WTA 1000 level, and ten in doubles - among them the 2024 French Open with Kateřina Siniaková. Her career-high singles ranking is world No. 2.
