French general (1748–1839)
Divisional-General Claude-Henri Belgrand de Vaubois was a French Army officer who served in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. He is best known for his unsuccessful defence of Malta from 1798 to 1800. On 20 August 1808, he was made a Count of the Empire. De Vaubois' name was inscribed on the Arc de Triomphe' Kléber Arch.
