American hammer thrower and football coach (1883-1960)
Clarence Chester Childs was an American athlete who competed mainly in the hammer throw. He represented the United States at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm, winning a bronze medal in the hammer throw. Childs served as the head football coach at Indiana University from 1914 to 1915, compiling a record of 6–7–1.
