About this person

Born in Linz on 9 June 1982, Stürmer rose through the inaugural season of ORF eins's Starmania, finishing second but catching Universal Music's attention. Her debut single "Ich lebe" spent nine weeks atop the Austrian Singles Chart, and her first two albums - Freier Fall (2003) and Soll das wirklich alles sein (2004) - both debuted at number one, yielding eight top ten hits including "Mama (Ana Ahabak)" and "Vorbei". Her international debut Schwarz Weiss cemented her as a mid-2000s breakout across German-speaking Europe, followed by chart-topping albums Lebe lauter (2006), In dieser Stadt (2009), Ich hör auf mein Herz (2013), and Seite an Seite (2016), with singles like "Nie genug", "Um bei dir zu sein", "Mitten unterm Jahr", and "Millionen Lichter" hitting across Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. Across fifteen years she moved over 2.0 million records, collected eleven Amadeus Austrian Music Awards, a Goldene Stimmgabel, and two ECHO Awards, and in 2015 appeared on the German series Sing meinen Song before coaching on It Takes 2 in 2017.
