Catulo da Paixão Cearense, the Poeta do Sertão was a Brazilian poet, theatre director, musician, and composer. He is considered one of the biggest composers in the history of Brazilian popular music during the 19th and 20th centuries. He was held in high esteem by various intellectuals for the beauty of his writings.
