About this person

Bruno Fernandes spent five years bouncing between Italian clubs - Novara, Udinese, Sampdoria - before Sporting CP brought him home in 2017. There he exploded: back-to-back domestic cups, consecutive Player of the Year awards, and in 2018-19 a staggering 33 goals that made him the highest-scoring midfielder in Europe that season. Manchester United paid €55 million for him in January 2020, then the second-highest fee for a Portuguese player leaving the domestic league. He became the engine - more than 300 games, an FA Cup, an EFL Cup, two Europa League finals where he topped the scoring charts, and in 2026 a clean sweep of individual honors capped by 21 assists that broke the Premier League's single-season record. For Portugal he has over 90 caps, two Nations League titles, and spots in three World Cups and two Euros. The goals and the chances keep coming, and so does the scrutiny.
