Braulia Cánovas Mulero was a Spanish Republican who fought against the Nazis in the French Resistance, under the codename "Monique". She survived the Nazi concentration camps and was liberated from Bergen-Belsen on 15 April 1945. In 2018, she was honoured by her local town council along with four other Alhameños who were victims of the Nazi concentration camps.
