Wife of King John II of France
She was wife to a future king of France but died a year too soon to wear the crown — yet her sons and daughter reshaped the French monarchy and Burgundy for generations.
Born Jutta on 20 May 1315, the second daughter of King John of Bohemia and Elisabeth of Bohemia, she came from the House of Luxembourg. French records knew her as Bonne. She married John II of France, but death took her on 11 September 1349 — one year before his accession — so the title of queen never arrived. What did arrive: Charles V of France, Philip II, Duke of Burgundy, and Joan, Queen of Navarre, the children who carried her lineage into the heart of late medieval power.
