Born 22 October 1991, Başak Gümülcinelioğlu trained as an architect before the performing arts pulled her in a second direction. She began appearing in Turkish television productions while simultaneously committing to stage work, taking roles in plays mounted at Istanbul Folk Theatre and BKM Theatre. The double practice stuck - she never abandoned architecture for acting or vice versa, instead maintaining both as live practices. It's a rare arrangement: most people who can design a building don't also perform in one.
