Born Baraka Hussein Obama in Kenya in 1934, he married Kezia in 1954 and had two children before a fellowship brought him to the University of Hawaii, where he met Ann Dunham. They married in 1961 after she became pregnant with Barack, divorced three years later, and Obama moved to Harvard for a master's in economics.
