About this person
Astrid Smeplass was born 29 October 1996 and entered the public eye at seventeen, placing fifth on Idol - Jakten på en superstjerne in 2013. The show didn't crown her, but it opened the door. She spent the rest of the decade writing and releasing singles under the name Astrid S, building a following that stretched well beyond Norway. In 2020, she put out her debut studio album, Leave It Beautiful, through Universal - seven years after the cameras first found her, and on her own terms.
