About this person

Born in Jerusalem, raised in Jamaica, Asaf Avidan formed Asaf Avidan & the Mojos in 2006 and released three independent albums through 2011, starting with The Reckoning, which went Gold in Israel. In 2012, a German producer named Wankelmut took one of their songs and flipped it into "One Day / Reckoning Song," a remix that went Gold and Platinum across Europe while Avidan was already stepping away from the band. He launched his solo career that same year and eventually settled in France, carrying forward the raw-voiced intensity that first traveled farther than he expected.
