Nineteenth-century Russian pianist and composer who basically put classical music on the map in Russia by founding the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. His brother Nikolai did the same thing in Moscow, because apparently that's what the Rubinsteins did.
Anton Grigoryevich Rubinstein was a Russian pianist, composer and conductor who founded the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. He was the elder brother of Nikolai Rubinstein, who founded the Moscow Conservatory.
