Ana Luisa Valdés is a Uruguayan writer and social anthropologist. Due to her involvement in the Tupamaros guerrilla group, she was exiled to Sweden from 1978 until 2014, when she returned to Uruguay. In addition to her work as an author, translator, and journalist, Valdés has been active in the promotion of museum digitization.
